Monday, Sept. 5: What was your most memorable birthday?
This prompt was a little hard for me. I’ve talked a lot about my previous career, although I’ve never given it a dedicated post which I need to. But one of the key pieces of information about that former career is that the two busiest months, and usually the months when I didn’t get a single day off were November and February. My birthday just happens to be in November.
November was the month where I was responsible for both volleyball and basketball games so I would often spend my birthday in a gym, or a hotel or on a bus with a team and not at home with my friends and family. We would always try and squeeze in a little dinner or something but mostly my birthday wasn’t that big a deal to me.
Two years ago my best friend, who lives in Seattle, really far away from North Carolina, and has a birthday in September, and I decided we would really celebrate both birthdays, together, and in October. This made sense to us even though it wasn’t a major birthday for either of us since we hadn’t seen each other in a while. So we planned the ultimate long weekend at a place we were both dying to visit… HARRY POTTER WORLD!
The two of us, plus her mom and her best friend, all met in Orlando for a long weekend at Harry Potter World. It was the greatest girls weekend of nerdyness. We celebrated her birthday, a month late, and mine a month early with all the butter beer, pumpkin juice and chocolate frogs we could find. And it was perfect. Now time for all the photos!
What was your most memorable birthday? I am hoping the big 3-0 in a few months will be another great one for me!
