I would really like it if August wasn’t almost over! I am just not ready to let go of this amazing summer. It’s funny how I think I actually have control over these things…
ONE
Me time. Some people don’t need, or more likely take, time for themselves. But if I don’t take it bad things happen. By nature I am someone who will spend every waking moment taking care of everyone and everything around me. Which will burn a girl out. So I have to take a night here or there and turn off my cell phone and do something by myself and for myself. This Tuesday I had one of those nights. Will was out having a night with him mom so I took advantage and tuned off the phone. I went and got a pedicure and ate delicious Indian food which Will (and most everyone else I know) doesn’t like. Then I caught up on Big Brother. It was exactly what I needed.
TWO
Amanda from The Lady Okie recently posted about this book she had read and it sounded like something I would LOVE. So when she said she was giving it away I was all over that. Miraculously I won. A serious miracle because I never win anything. I can’t wait to dive in to This Is Your Brain On Sports! I will probably pass it along once I am done so stay tuned.
THREE
One of my favorite things to do in the summer is head to the minor league baseball games in our town. They do a Money of Monday promotion with $1 hot dogs and $1 beers. Will and I went with a bunch of friends this week and had a blast. It was a tie game in the ninth inning so there was plenty of dramatics and Will and I both went and ate dinner for $20. Can’t beat it!
FOUR
The hubby made my lunch one day this week. He’s a keeper.
FIVE
It feels like Monday was a really long time ago but I got to shop the Lilly Pulitzer sale for the first time. I ended up just grabbing a pair of shorts but I can’t wait to get them! And now I know how it works for next time and I can be way more prepared. And be able to spend a little more since it won’t be three-months post wedding!

I am a big fan of me time here and there too. Even if it just means an hour to read or get lost in HGTV. Haha! Yay for winning a book!!!! I always feel like I won the lottery if I win a giveaway of some kind. Hope you have a great weekend!

Me time is the best, especially because I’m the same way as you where I’m always doing things and getting burned out FAST! Sounds like you had a pretty awesome evening to yourself!

I too am a firm believer in self-care and a pedicure sounds fabulous right now! I can’t believe no one else likes Indian food – it has so much amazing flavor!
That book sounds great – you’ll have to update us on what you think when you finish it!

I have to have alone time too! I become very very moody if I haven’t had it in a while.

ah Hooray for time to yourself! That’s so nice. I’m in desperate need of a pedicure so you’ve inspired me to make that a priority the next time I’ve got some time alone! Hope you’ve been having a great week!!

I’m totally ready for summer to be over and for fall to be here, but only for the cooler weather and football games. I’d totally be ok if the holidays wouldn’t get here so fast. And that’s awesome that the minor league baseball team does that Monday promotion! It sounds like a ton of fun!
